Kurjey Lhakhang, Bumthang
Khurjey Lhakhang is a substantial monastery nestled in the picturesque valley of Bumthang in Bhutan, reflecting the spiritual and natural landscape of the kingdom. The complex is deeply venerated, as legend holds that it contains the body imprint of Guru Rinpoche, the founder of Buddhism in Bhutan.
The Lhakhang is a significant cluster of three temples. In addition to its religious importance, the temple complex is celebrated for its annual festival, the KhurjeyTshechu, that exhibits the vibrant display of Bhutanese culture that magnetizes both locals as well as the outsiders.
