Simtokha Dzong
Simtokha Dzong is a historic fortress in Bhutan that once served as a Buddhist monastery. The name Simtokha translates to "Atop a Demon". The Dzong is positioned in proximity to the capital city of Thimphu and is believed to be the first Dzong built in the kingdom of Bhutan. History of Simtokha Dzong has it that it was built by the unifier of Bhutan ZhabdrungNgawang Namgyal, dated back in 1629.
